Virtual Server technology is an alternative to Virtual Hosting. To fully understand just what makes your Virtual Server better than other Web hosting options, you need to understand the difference between these two basic types of Web hosting technologies. Let's discuss the difference between dedicated servers, Virtual Hosting, and Virtual Server technology.

In a Virtual Hosting environment, you have almost no control over how your Internet services behave. That is because all of the software is configured by your provider, rather than by you. Virtual Hosting gives you very limited access to someone else’s server. Compare that to true Virtual Server technology, which is what we provide. With a virtual server, you have complete control over all your Internet services. You have your own, independent Web, FTP, and email servers and your own set of configuration files that let you control your services without any need for intervention from your provider. In essence, Virtual Server technology lets you be the system administrator (see our guide)—not somebody else in another town, state or country! Even if you don’t have any experience with server administration, don’t worry—we’ve designed your virtual server to be easy to administer. With a virtual server, you have the freedom and flexibility to do what you want to do, so you can get the most out of what you’re paying for.

Our Virtual Server Systems use high-performance computers, special software, and high-speed Internet connections, just like dedicated Internet servers—but with one important difference: Our systems have been designed from the ground up to allow more than one user to share the available resources. Because multiple users share the cost of these resources, the cost per user is considerably lower than a dedicated Internet server—yet you still maintain the power and flexibility that a Virtual Hosting environment simply can’t provide.

Along with Web, FTP, and email service, your virtual server provides a number of other useful Internet services. The amount and type of services available to you depends on the type of virtual server you
purchased. We currently offer several different virtual server products:
Virtual Lite and Virtual Pro. The Virtual Pro is the most powerful of the two Virtual Servers. It is ideal for the small to mid-sized business.
